Why Shut down a discussion on the Mumbai Megaproject ?
Sirs,
I had recently posted a large Project concept " The Mumbai Megaproject " on this forum.
It is India's largest Investment project.
Would like to know the reason why this topic was locked . It will be nice if someone explains this
to me and if I have broken any forum rules.
The material is original and I hold the copyright for the project .
One of the readers has also appreciated it.
Request you to please clarify.

Hello Ashish,
perhaps you are using BRF to promote your project and material rather than coming to open a discussion and invite comments? This does not sound ethical to me (I am sure BRF mods might have their own reasons).
Perhaps you could start with identifying the problem, current issues, scope it for India instead of restricting it to Mumbai (personally I am OK with this scope also), invite comments/critic from the forum members on your solution.
Also because you own the copyright on the idea, you may need to make it clear how you will use the forum feedback.
Also, there is a Indian Real Estate thread in TECO forum where you could start. I personally think when the idea matures and scoped out on bigger scale, this has merit to be in strat forum.

Re: Why Shut down a discussion on the Mumbai Megaproject ?
BTW: If I recall correctly, a while ago you started a discussion on stategic oil reserves for India and some ideas around it. Any status update? You could respond back on relevent threads that exists on such topics. pl ignore if you were not the one.

Ashish Jee, Welcome to BRF.
Since you are a newbie I am taking the privilege of letting you know the basic forum rule... BRF IS NOT A DEMOCRACY, MODS RULE!!! It's upto individual members to figure out how best to put the point across. MODS may have a lot of reasons to close your thread. SOme of them are given below:
1) Your topic was not found to be important enough
2) Basic material that you posted may seem like an advert or a self promotion exercise
3) Other threads are available to discuss your topic
4) As a newbie your credentials are not yet established hence suspect of point 2
5) May be you fought with a MOD, who not likey you...
6) MOST IMPORTANT MAY BE NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION IS OUT THERE IN PUBLIC DOMAIN FOR BRITES TO HAVE A MEANINGFUL DISCUSSION ON
Hang around a little more. Contribute, and may be you'll find takers....
And yes ... IB4TL onleee....

IB4TL.
Urban thread is already there no. In the past a single post like that usually resulted in a straight ban for Newbie. Not only that your IP would have been blocked as well. Literally have to change jobs to get posting privilege back. Treacherous ground this....

Just to be safe.... IB4TL.
But I do think that Mumbai mahanagar development thingy should be discussed. There are a lot of issues involved in this kind of project that need discussion.

Thank You
Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the clarifications.
About the Mumbai Megaproject, for one thing, suggestions are
definately welcome and if someone comes up with a useful
suggestion, it will be incorporated in the next Revision (Rev 2)
of the presentation , with a citation that it came from that
person. Suggestions can be sent to my E mail ID as indicated
at the end of the Mumbai Megaproject note.
Finally thanks for being frank in your suggestions. If there are
any updates , I will let the group know.
Ashish

Please don't start threads indiscriminately. Post this in the urban development and public policy thread please.
This thread will be locked and deleted.
