Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
ideally our forces should have crossed the border in night and kidnapped 2-3 their soldiers to keep them as collateral.
Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
The briefing will I am guessing be about the decimation of the balakot pigsty. The weather may have cleared enough for us to have sat intel that can be shown publicly. We probably already had other intel but not the reveal-able type.

Trump says there's "reasonably decent" news on the India-Pakistan conflict and "hopefully" it's coming to an end.

Pakistani F-16s use P&W engines and not GE that ANI is probably not aware of.Bharadwaj wrote:The pigs were dumb enough to post photos their slaughtered solah yesterday claiming it was an Iaf bird. The IAF has caught this and the agencies now reporting. Sorry unable to resize.

I had the same thought but my guess is paf is guided by their aew and deliberately staying away from possible Sam sites and radars.partha wrote:[Newbie question that's bugging me: can we not engage intruding Paki jets with surface to air missiles instead of dogfight?
Another question is if they can get Intel from China perhaps satellite imagery?

https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/donald- ... -topscroll"We Have Some Reasonably Decent News From India, Pakistan": Donald Trump
S President Donald Trump today said "we have some reasonably decent news from India and Pakistan", indicating a resolution amid tension between the two countries over the past few days. Donald Trump's comments at a press conference in Hanoi, on the sidelines of his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, offered hope of de-escalation a day after hostilities peaked with aerial combat between Indian and Pakistani warplanes.
"I think reasonably attractive news from Pakistan and India, they have been going at it and we have been involved and have them stop, we have some reasonably decent news, hopefully it's going to be coming to an end, this has been going on for a long time, decades and decades," the US President said in response to questions.
Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
the german ambassador to India was heard saying today that pakistan must return the pilot immidiately.
So Germany, France, UK, USA are all strongly aligned behind Indian moves, whatever Trump may say or leave unsaid doesn't matter.
The actions are what count. In the same basket all the gulf kingdoms should flock behind us as well. It is only natural for them to rally behind a stable, prosperous and growing entity rather than a failed state breeding jihadis who may one day influx gulf with pious thoughts and suicide jackets.
Long ago in one of his bombastic interviews, musharraf had boasted how he 'warned' a gulf monarch (uae most likely) to 'cooperate' with pakistan else face disruption by suicide bombers and religious fanatics.

As per Wiki F16 uses both GE and PW engines. And kudos to whoever has updated that site already showing one F16 downed on 27th Feb 2019.

well said! its not a small thing.... 1000+ international flights must be crossing their airspace daily + their whole civil aviation industry in lockdown. we know their long haul railway is pretty weak. imagine the lahore elites forced to take a train to karachi in a emergencyhabal wrote:their entire airspace is locked down, i'll take that collateral over a few expendable paki soldiers.abhijitm wrote:ideally our forces should have crossed the border in night and kidnapped 2-3 their soldiers to keep them as collateral.

Yes by my reading this show is over or rapidly going to be over. Disengage and go home. Meanwhile there will be some UN Tamasha of declaring JEM a terrorist org. But really nothing more. Back to chai biskoot in a few days after Indian Pilot comes home.Karthik S wrote:What's that supposed to mean?

tsarkar sir, video shows a broken CFT type thing of block52 being loaded onto truck and even the various models of the PW F100 dating from the older models to block52 have that chicklet type outer casing.
I dont think there is much room left for debate on this. they might try to pin it on friendly fire. the fight was too high and fast for any manpad to engage (for ref we can see the famous PKK shoot of the turkiye ah1) and why would a AIM9 from another PAF plane ignore the IFF codes and take down their own. its a proven missile and IFF is key in a meelee fight.
the R73 got it, which is a good sign because we have 1000s of it.

Any news on F 16 pilot(s)??
Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
he would be under close watch in military hospital until its safe to emerge again.
Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
imo this is a ominous sign:: goes against de-escalation theory. if de-escalation a MEA secy type would have announced it like yesterday.
could be the next steps in tightening the noose around the rat.

America has warned Pakistan against using US weapons without permission. Looks like F-16 was indeed shot by Mig-21 causing lot of H&D loss for the US.

If Navy gets involved and a naval blockade is enforced, what will happen to Paki economy?! There will be severe shortage of goods and services. People will come out on streets. Chaos!

Confidence building move by khanland towards possible clients including us. If this does not incite people to buy us merchandise, what will?New Delhi: By using F-16s to enter into Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan may have violated a US rule that seeks to prevent foreign militaries from using US weapons and jets without prior permission for carrying out the sort of cross-border incursions that Pakistan attempted on Wednesday.

bhaijaan, even in best of times their POL reserves hover @ 1 week mark. ours are topped up a week ago in narth and southern oil routes are untouchable by tsp.
Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
this is why I said yesterday that if TSPA was clever it would have released the pilot today itself. Then they could atleast posture to world that they didn't want any escalation. But their small minded nature prevents them from taking any sensible decisions.Singha wrote:imo this is a ominous sign:: goes against de-escalation theory. if de-escalation a MEA secy type would have announced it like yesterday.

Very interesting statement from MoD officials:
It looks like Pak army facilities will be targeted for supporting JeM!@ANI: Defence Ministry Officials: We believe that the Pakistan Army is actively supporting the Jaish-e-Mohammed and is harbouring the leaders including Masood Azhar in its facilities

Will naval blockade be of any use if China can supply from pok?
Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
It will be covered up during Afghan civil war a Su-24? Shot down F-16 and they refused to acknowledge it. After a long time they finally said they lost a F-16 but blamed it on training exercise and later friendly fire. Probably ruined the pilots career for a cover up...DrRatnadip wrote:Any news on F 16 pilot(s)??

Given the nature of the road and much of it being snowbound, hardly 50 trucks a day can be supplied via that route optimistically, even Nepal could not get its enough supplies, pakistan no chance and take out 1 bridge and that road will not be operational.Cain Marko wrote:Will naval blockade be of any use if China can supply from pok?
Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
take a look at karakorum highway by opening google earth in chrome.
see if that route is suitable for heavy tankers, how many tankers can match a ship. even if all the land routes into TSP from iran, afghanistan and cheen were doing tanker trucks 24x7 a day its still no match for VLCC ships.

I thought the plan was to supply China from Gwadar via Karakoram HWCain Marko wrote:Will naval blockade be of any use if China can supply from pok?
They won't supply for free for sure. India can trigger landslides on the highway, if there is al all out war, which will then be blocked for days!

Interesting...the Saab 2000 which was heading towards Quetta is now approaching Karachi. It disabled it's transponder somewhere over chinali and now has switched on the transponder.

Last checked the khunjerab pass-gilgit road was not a six lane highway. One chinese trucker hauling a container took better part of a day to make u-turn on one section.Cain Marko wrote:Will naval blockade be of any use if China can supply from pok?

Re: Indian Forces Strike Pakistan - News Only
That was what the Pakis claim, Chinese never said they could supply, it looks nice on 2d paper, but in reality it is way too expensive even if they lay a pipeline, let alone try and use it during winter by road transport.

Why not whip out the Karakorum Kauua?
The poor SAAB is being whipped black and blue..
Mean-e-while.. the Indian airspace is as buzzing as ever..
Also Mean-e-while.. Saudi amby is calling on the PM, no doubt on the behest of the brown shalwars
