Only heard about a brotest at Corporation/Town Hall circle in BLR, maybe one or two campuses in Chennai/HYD. The average guy either doesn't know much about it and going about his life, or is generally approving in terms of security. Only media studios and ITVity offices are working themselves into a frenzy, no one else gives a sh1t.

Ask your friends to stop reading NDTV and look at local news in the so-called "vernaculars". They'll know exactly what's happening here (or not happening). Also, since you are our resident NDTV patron, this request applies to you to, saar! :).

Lastly, ask them to count the number of cities from which "incidents" have been reported - that would put things in perspective. India has, what, 6,50,000 villages and 100 0.5million+ cities?
Shyam, does the post include major part of Hyd as well? Usually "old city" area erupts even for a bomb dropped on west bank, it's a pleasant surprise if overall things have been calm there.
Didn't go much into the old city proper - Khairatabad and Nampally was the closest I got. Looked normal onlee. Mostly was in the north west side - Tank Bund, Kukatpalli, Gachibowli, Banjara. But if there is disturbance in one part of the city, usually people stay indoors and traffic levels go down, so that much can be noticed. Same for metro services. Both were normal per what I saw.

At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe. Facts, explanations, history, etc. are just details that don't really matter to those with closed minds. Seeing a lot of that in my "liberal" circles.

the norwegians must be told of places where the sun don't shine and where exactly they can stick their "help".

we saw their perfidious behavior in srilanka when the ltte mess was going on. These norwegian guys were the biggest hurdle in those talks where they had cunningly inserted themselves when in actual fact they had no business to be there.

twitter

Norwegians have come to save democracy in India. Norway is a great democracy. Norway has a King. So concern for democracy is natural. What is the population of Norway ? It is 4.5 million (45 lacs). It has come to teach democracy to 1.3 billion (130 crores).

Janne -Mette Johansson, a Norwegian national who participated in the anti Citizenship Act protests in Kochi on December 23.

https://www.newindianexpress.com/states ... 81759.html

If Norwegian woman Janne-Mette Johansson visiting Kerala was asked to leave the country for participating in the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) protest in Kochi last week, Swiss national Jonathan Baud got stuck for three months in Kerala, including spending time in the Viyyur sub-jail, after he took part in a memorial meet of a Maoist, who was killed in Andhra Pradesh, in Thrissur in 2014.

Though police arrested him from the meeting place at Thriprayar for suspected Maoist links, they failed to establish in the court that he had any ulterior motives or any Maoist connections.

The Kerala High Court quashed all charges levelled against him.

However, he had to spend around two weeks in the sub-jail as a remand prisoner and around three months in Kerala as his passport was surrendered in the court.

It was not an isolated incident in Kerala. In 1992, the Mundakkayam police in Kottayam had registered a case against Canadian national Patrick Marini and his host, a pentecostal pastor, for allegedly attending prayer meetings with an aim to propagate a particular religion.

Though the police registered a case against both, the Canadian, who was a professor, managed to leave the country.

Later, the case against them was scrapped by the local court after censuring the pastor.

Before the Norwegian, German national Jakob Lindenthal, who is a student on an exchange programme at IIT-Madras, was asked to leave India reportedly by Bureau of Immigration officials recently after he took part in a protest against the CAA in Chennai.

According to a senior state police officer, the foreigners who reach here on tourist visas are not allowed to indulge in such activities.

Attending a rally against a law enacted by the Indian parliament is a serious offence.

Apart from invoking various provisions under the Foreigners Act, 1946 and Foreigners (Amendment) Act, 2004, the accused can be booked under Section 121 of the Indian Penal Code Act (waging or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war against the Government of India). Flouting provisions of the two Acts can attract a jail term of up to five years.

Further, attending rallies against an elected government in a foreign country would strain the diplomatic relations between the two countries and would even attract deportation and ‘no-entry’ stamp for the foreigner, the officer said.

Many foreigners who attend programmes, meetings or rallies here are unaware of the local laws.

The thing with counter protest is that it gives doubt towards legitimacy of protest, even if protest is a riot.

Even if you give video evidence the pseudos will claim that protests occured in NDA ruled state because police arrested rioters there the most.

Looks like UP police too no chance and cleaned up the Jiahdi protests with brute force. I feel for the cops. On the one hand, had the Jihadis succeeded, the libtards and BIF would be celebrating with no bounds and on 2 counts: success of the so called "dissent" and YogiJi/BJP/ModiJi 'couldn't control and handful of rioters" would have been the mantra. Now the accusation is 'human rights' violation, 'communal' etc. So for the cops and YogiJi, its a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. I prefer the damned if you do part :-). Let the libtards and Jiahdis and their sponsors squirm.

China will rewrite the Quran? Really?

Why don't I see Pakistani and Indian Muslims rioting in the streets of Lahore and Delhi or mobs here in London burning President Xi's effigy?

I suppose Xi is their new God.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... alues.html

Though the Bible and Quran were not mentioned specifically, the party called for a 'comprehensive evaluation of the existing religious classics aiming at contents which do not conform to the progress of the times'.

The order was given in November during a meeting held by the Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, which oversees the ethnic and religious matters in China.

A group of 16 experts, believers and representatives of different religions from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China attended the conference in last month, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The meeting was supervised by Wang Yang, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Mr Wang stressed that religious authorities must follow President Xi's instructions and interpret the ideologies of different religions in accordance with 'the core values of Socialism' and 'the requirements of the era', French newspaper Le Figaro reported yesterday.

Priyanka Gandhi defies police restriction to meet anti-CAA activist's kin - Shailvee Sharda – TNN

LUCKNOW: Congress general secretary Priyanak Gandhi Vadra on Saturday dodged the Lucknow police to meet the kin of SR Darapuri, former IPS and social activist, who was arrested in connection with the violence that followed CAA-NRC protests in the state capital on December 19.

Priyanka was stopped by the UP Police at two points, 1090 and polytechnic squares, around 5.30pm. She also entered into an argument with a cop on duty at the polytechnic square and questioned why she was being stopped.

Refusing to follow instructions, a visibly fuming Priyanka got down from her car and decided to walk to Darapuri's house, which was about 2.5 kilometres away, but was offered a lift by a party worker on his two-wheeler.

Talking to reporters on the way, Priyanka said: "Yeh kaisi police hai... ye Yogi sarkar ki manmani hai ... logo se milne nahi de rahi hai ... na gadi se jane de rahi hai na paidal. (What kind of a police force is this ... this is highhandedness of Yogi government ... it is not allowing us to meet anyone.)"

Gandhi was flanked by senior leaders, including UP Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu, as well as security men. At around 6 pm, Priyanka reached Darapuri's house and met his son Ved. She spoke to the family for about 15 minutes.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the family, Priyanka alleged that she was "manhandled and strangulated" by UP cops while she was on her way to visit Darapuri's family.

"UP police stopped me while I was going to meet family of Darapuri ji. Police strangulated and manhandled me. They surrounded me while I was going on a party worker's two-wheeler, after which I had to go by foot, " she was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Earlier, Meerut Police had stopped Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi from meeting the families of CAA-NRC violence victims last Sunday

Ground Report: “I Have Got A New Life. They Were Planning To Burn Us Alive,” Meerut Journalist Recalls Friday Horror
https://swarajyamag.com/politics/ground ... day-horror
While the security forces were able to get a handle on the situation in the city in a matter of a couple of hours, what they must be most relieved is for preventing a major disaster from unfolding.

They saved 33 people — one journalist of a local Hindi daily, 30 trainees of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), two jawans of Rapid Action Force (RAF) — from being lynched alive by a bloodthirsty mob in broad daylight.

We reached out to the journalist, Rizwan Khan, who was held hostage along with PAC and RAF personnel by the mob for more than two hours. He narrated at length the tale of horror and how a police officer rescued them from the rioters.

With Congress Giving Ticket To Senior Journalist, Here’s List Of Journos Closely Associated With Top Politicians

A few of the journalists part of the list

On Friday (29 March) ET Now journalist Supriya Shrinate announced her resignation from the business news channel for contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj on a Congress ticket.

Incidentally, Shrinate’s late father Harsh Vardhan, was previously elected from the same constituency two times.

In light of this development, here is a list of some of the journalists who are closely associated with top politicians and political parties.

Ravish Kumar: TV anchor and journalist associated with NDTV India is the brother of Brajesh Kumar Pandey who is a senior leader of Congress party. He had unsuccessfully contested the Bihar election in 2015.

Brajesh had to tender his resignation from the post of Vice-President of Bihar unit of Congress party after being accused of sexually exploiting a young girl in Patna. He was even charged under the stringent provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act based on a note from the women's cell of the state's Criminal Investigation Department.

Suhasini Haider: Diplomatic Affairs and National Editor of The Hindu is the daughter of senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy. She is married to Nadeem Haider who is the son of former Indian foreign secretary Salman Haider.

Sonia Singh: The editorial director NDTV is the wife of senior Congress leader and Minister of State for Home Affairs R P N Singh. Singh is known to be a close associate of Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He was an MP from Kushinagar Lok Sabha constituency in 15th Lok Sabha. He however lost in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Singh’s father Kunwar C P N Singh was also a senior Congress leader and elected from Kushinagar seat. He was known to be a fierce loyalist of Indira Gandhi.

Kumar Ketkar: The veteran journalist from Maharashtra has long been accused of towing Congress party’s line during news debates. It thus came as no surprise to his critics when he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the Maharashtra unit of Congress party.
