Re: Civil Aviation Development & Discussion

Runway expansion is our biggest bottleneck. Thanks to land acquisition problems at all major airports. Unless we build newer airports, we'll get to the limits very quickly at the pace our traffic is increasing. Mumbai, delhi chennai pune goa all are victims of not thinking ahead and thereafter not d...

Looking at all those beautiful pics I am going to send a message to MoD and IAF that all aircraft should be painted bright yellow, red and pale green so that they can be seen clearly in photos with sky as background. :rotfl: For AI type air shows yes. One has to only look at Tiger meet liveries to ...

Re: MRCA (Many Rakshaks Choose Aircraft) Contest - Episode III

Old question. This was asked right at the start when many pointed out that the f15 was more capable than the 16/18 :) forgot. Think it was something to do with it being heavier without an established roadmap for the future especially given it isn't a heavily marketed fighter like the other 2.

The brochure for both guided shell and rocket displayed at kalyani stall were Israeli IAI there was no mentioning of kalyani in them Now we understand the angst of the DRDO gent about how private industry is thinking, #MII is screwdrivergiri of imported components. Their precision guided shells were Israeli. I wondered if the two examples on display were them showing interest in developing a shell like the Excalibur but :( when I saw the tv screen between them running an IAI/IWI (Forgotwhich) video showcasing them.

All these discussions n headaches aside. They've got an ATAGS at the Hall 8 which you can see as soon as you enter. The sheer massive size of the system hits you right in the face quite frankly. Part of our manpower need for COIN in J&K, LoC, IB are due to the lack of political moves to remove our porkistan problem. If that had been solved, we wouldn't need to maintain such a large and active presence there. Rather than using political strength to do what's needed politicians are perfec...

Ballistic missile attack would be the only kind that we wouldn't have advance warning in that case. A bomb truck of a plane sounds good but like other HVA will need escorts to use any missile with a range of <1000km (Wild A$$ Guess). Otherwise you would get into the range of anti-air from a chinese ...

The way to cut through the engine quantity logjam is via self propelled artillery on top of mbt orders. Yep. Nobody is off that list.
We could get these private firms to get started on an unmanned/optionally manned SP howitzer for the future based on whatever tech they can repurpose for this. Light/medium/heavy versions too for hills, plains, Tibet :)
