Re: Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft: News & Discussion - 30 August 2019
Folks, I need to pick the bright brains at BRF about a realistic volume projection of AMCA. As some of you might know / guessed, my KB is in race to supply some gizmos, and the management needs input on realistic business prospects. Since none of my past projections to them came reliably true (thei...

We might end up buying 36 more Rafales and however many Navy manages to convince the PMO to buy. If that is another 24-36, it'll adding up to 70 or so a/c. Perhaps that would set the ball rolling on making it here. But with no future prospects, especially if TEDBF is finally sanctioned and starts pr...

We need more diesel-electrics and the nuclear ones to prowl further out and tail PLAN fleets. Our current and near future sub force levels are nowhere near enough for what the PLAN and PN can throw at us in the entire IOR.

Setting aside sunk-cost fallacy for a moment, the jigs for making a series of naval tejas a/c exists. I seriously think India should delink the AMCA (and any other aircraft) from AN engine. I very much doubt, even with GE/RR/Safran help India will get a reliable engine of 110 kN by the time the AMCA is ready. With that in mind, I would seriously suggest that the AMCA use the GE-414 EPE, with the 11...
