... or like the Mk48 ADCAP, the wire can be cut when the torps's internal guidance locks-on to the target. Range ~5 miles for the Mk48 AFAIK.

Why is it that the camera, in spite of being capable of working in the entire visible spectrum, will be giving its stereo image output in B&W? I think it probably is possible to have coloured stereo output, or is it that color is not of any importance for terrain mapping? The HySI captures 80m ...

For those who couldn't watch live, here is a good piece of the action (w/o the silly tickers IBN loves).
Did you see how composed everyone in the MC was? That spoke loudly of the confidence in the launch vehicle.

ISRO will be broadcasting the launch via a webacst on 22nd Oct 2008 0550 - 0650 Hrs(IST).
Use this for local time conversion.

Isn't 100m a realy really shallow depth? Is this why gas replacement (carbon sequestration) recovery is being contemplated? I have my fingers crossed against dumping EU CO2 in these wells.
