He retires on 30 September 2021. BiRa retires in 2023! Can happen only if the current ACM is recalled to service. But even that cant happen as he would have crossed 65yrs of age by that time.

.................... I don't think our T-series tanks are up against Chinese type-15's. If a T-72/90 can reach some place, Chinese Type-99's can too. The type-15's will be used in places where the larger tanks cannot reach or operate easily or be sustained logistically. Having a fire-and-forget ATG...

What could be the point of comparing 8x8 AFV with a 4x4 tactical utility vehicle. Looks like the usual rigmarole of consigning indigenous development to oblivion has started again!

So it required a crisis to Armor Corps to notice that the Chinese have a 35ton tank  Deployed since 2018.. The choice of main gun would be very interesting here. The IA probably would push for the Roosie 125 mm 2A46 smoothbore main gun, logistical similarity et al. However the platform is ess...

Re: India's Border Security with China and Pakistan-2020

I'm wondering if the cold climate version of Arjun could have been of a use here. Could it have been a lighter version? The C-17 is capable of lifting the Arjun (with several tonnes to spare). The cold climate (actually high altitude) version is really a special grade of fuel and lubricant, which w...

Why not just use the Arjun APU? Will provide commonality of pats across the supply chain and easier maintenance. I think its assembled by MAK Controls and powered by Kirloskar Air cooled engine.

Noob question here. There was talk of integrating the Kaveri on one of the initial Tejas prototypes (1st one I think) as a flying test bed. Would it be too difficult to convert this inr into an unmanned plane and fly it over coastal areas (over sea) to avoid casualties in case of failure & test?...

I've always noted, that the Arjun's main gun is always pointed upwards, even when it is on manoeuvers, while the western tanks always move with the gun horizontal (somehow that looks more TFTA).
