Trading is less difficult than manufacturing. Fewer laws to comply and so fewer inspectors. Manufacturing requires industrial land which is expensive. Manufacturing requires trained manpower, etc etc
No point in running down businessmen.

I was around in 98. No one ate grass. Even the sanctions back then were on DRDO, BARC etc. and not like the sanctions on Iran or Russia. Given the geopolitical scenario, I dont think there will be any sanctions if this is timed properly. E.g. if we are actively involved in a western alliance system...

Suppose they were tempted to reveal Qatari secrets to Israel. What should be the penalty? After all, Qatar did give them a responsible task that provided access to secrets.

One importer I know tries to avoid USD as far as possible. Paying in EURO and UKP, AUD, CAD, NZD. Never does business with China so no yuan.

Monsoon is about 35% below normal countrywide.
There is also the Rabi crop to come. But groundwater will generally be lower if monsoon isn't normal. Let's pray that rainfall improves to give a normal monsoon.
