Re: Armoured Vehicles: News & Discussion

Yeah but logistically it is a good idea. If we could experiment with the 125 mm on the arjun chassis the logistical commonality is another factor. As of now based on the all the available literature the 125mm is superior to the Arjun's 120mm. I base this on Karan M and Rohit Vats commentary on the ...

Well late but never, the CBM during UPA times where we gave up on Vidvanshak and giving BSF had 9mm Baretta 'a letting Pakis dominate, these kind of weapons were very useful during operation Parakram and giving a bloody nose to Pakis. 9 mm Berettas came because H&K refused to sell MP5 to BSF cl...

Re: Armoured Vehicles: News & Discussion

With the Arjun Mk-1A undergoing final trials with upgraded systems at Pokharan, another welcome event with around another 110+ MBTs likely to be ordered, it struck me as to why with so much time on hand the improved Arj. 1-A/ Mk-2 with its cannot have a 125mm gun turret for commonality with the tho...

As I said recently, an officer who's served in various border terrain said that the Arjun was not viable for the riverine, canal crossed terrain , but better suited to the desert. Many bridges can't manahe the A series. Weight is 20t more than a T-90 The cost is also around $ 1.5 to 2M more than a ...

The FAT is not just towing the gun, it is also carrying ammo. More heavier the gun, lesser the ammo you can carry. Ofcourse, you then induct new FAT. Which means extra cost, time & effort to test the new FAT in every type of ops environment. Not to mention, higher you go, lower the performance ...

This LMG as per firing pattern extensively used almost daily bases so wear and tear is possible, same goes for Magazine, we jump to conclusions based on little clip, that is it too much. You can find plenty of video of western gun jamming during fight..
