Nice! Some more engine testing followed by full stage testing and we'll be good for LVM3's first launch in December next year (earliest possible date acc to ISRO).

And yes..we need to now concentrate on having our semi cryo engine ready by 2020.

This is the proposed upgradation of the GSLV Mk-IV is an old concept. There is no official ISRO source for this version. I doubt it will ever fly. And I would be happy if it doesn't. It's the payload adapter. It keeps the payload attached to the launch vehicle till it's time to be released. This is the one used for satellites and other conventional payloads.

Thanks KrishG. Another question. I haven't seen a window in the re-entry module so far. If it doesn't have one, how would the crew align the module for retro rocket firing? Again, this a technology validation mission. The actual OV will resemble the current CARE only in terms of the overall design....
