^^^^^ I don't agree with the earlier post as to having issues with Media for criticizing IAF for crashes. It is granted that IAF is doing best it could do with old planes and trying to keep them air-worthy. It is granted that Defence reporters don't always have their facts correct and try to general...

Indian Coast Guard: News & Discussion

I think, we don't have a separate thread for Coast Guard. Coast guard news are posted in Navy thread. In view of huge increase in capability in recent months in Coast guard and its increasing importance, a thread bearing its name is worth it.

Maybe the crash of INS Vindhyagiri was carried out intentionally, what I have come to know it was one of the oldest ship in IN and anyway it was supposed to be decommissioned next year. The crash may be a crash test carried out by IN the way the automakers test Cars for their durability. IN might wa...

Ravi - The first sukhoi crash has nothing to do with switching off the FCS and it was related to failure of FBW as admitted by RM A K Anthony. It was not a human error of shutting off a switch as suggested by you.

Rahul - It is logical that you don't want DRDO to concentrate on low end tech like Cornershot, that part is understandable but telling OFB to do it may not be fruitful. Why? because we see lot of good ideas and prototypes from OFB during the defence expos but very small portion of those are actually...

The army cannot wait longer. I think this 197 copter deal was cancelled once earlier when it was given to Eurocopter after some kind of allegations. Though HAL can make such helicopters but it needs time to produce so many, so it is better to buy off shelf. Otherwise Army has to depend on Mulecopter...

So, Rahul it seems you want to keep bulk of the Police force armed with this 19th century rifle, which does not fire most of times. So why not go back one step back and arm all police with Lathis only then there can be no risk of collateral damage. Instead of training them properly and arming them w...
