P Chupunkar I don't think you can compare the gulf war scenario directly and just belive some of the stuff which comes in american documentories which is pretty plain jingoistic stuff-I mean do they ever talk about the Apache not able to fire 4 of its hellfires on its left side so that they don't da...

Re: Agni-I/SR: Strategic Implications (Thread 2)
Hey while talking about ranges of A-II do not forget that Hong Kong and the bulk of China Industrial belt is about 2500Km from calcutta. So A-II could be designed once the A-III is in service to hit Chengdu,Xian Hongkong etc . lets not forget in any strike the factories of Chengdu will be very import...

Re: Agni-I/SR: Strategic Implications (Thread 2)
This Agni-1 missile also validates the reports during Kargil of 5 prithvi's and 1 Agni-1 being mated with nuke warheads and we were all wondering about why agni-1 was being used at that time.
also one wonders why prithvis were being tested as late as last November..

Re: Agni-I/SR: Strategic Implications (Thread 1)
Guys I just want to confirm are the pics shown in the media older tests or was of today's test.
I am asking this because of as a lay man I look at 4-5 beams which seperate the 2 stages of agni-II which is unique to it being there in this missile also which is a single stage missile.
Also with ad...

Re: Agni-I/SR: Strategic Implications (Thread 1)
congrats to DRDO
Wonder what the specs of the new missile are???? And this could mean that prithvi's will be used for conventional purposes against pakistan and A-I's as nuclear miisiles.
How conventioaly armed A-I's to be used to destroy sargoda

Re: Agni-I/SR: Strategic Implications (Thread 1)
Vamsee>> Actually it make sense to test Agni-II again. The army/airforce this time want only there own men(say an artilery officer) to carry out their tests and thus validate their comand and control and targeting systems.Or A MINOR IMPROVEMENT on the missile which might improve its operational effic...
