Re: Naval LCA - News and Discussion

Am I reading it right or is this another part ddm. Naval Tejas taking off with a payload of 3.5 tons. As far as I know that is the maximum payload of AF Tejas Mk1. If it does so would Navy buy more and use it atop its carriers.

ADA sources said LSP-3 and LSP-4 of Tejas have been prepared for BIAS, one for flying duties and the other for static display. But test pilots flying Tejas are apprehensive. “We have problems with the undercarriage. A short-term solution has been found for this trip but it’s not a permanent answer,...

Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions

A question to gurus please:
Is it feasible/possible that Tejas MK1A be Tejas MK2 minus the 414 engine. What I mean here is that will Tejas Mk1A incorporate all the aerodynamic improvements sought in Tejas Mk2 and still be powered by 404 engine.

How quickly can we get engines for series production of Mk1 and proposed Mk1.5 from GE. Will it be through a fresh order or can they be acquired through previous order it self.

FOC will be given on original ASR as freezed and handed down to ADA by IAF. Any additional requirement will form part of subsequent versions after FOC. Wait for it. I do agree with Philip sir on it. I thought the JF-17 bandar was a Mig-21, with Chinese makeup. However, I always wonder. We have had ToT for decades. Whether we bought MiG-21, 25, 27 or Mirage or Su-30MKI, we must have had ToT as part of the scope. Then why did it take so many years for us to develop an LCA that is still IOC and a...

I think one way of setting this right is by having an MRCA styled competition where RFI's are sent to major tank manufacturers and let Arjun and T-90 compete with other tanks. Whichever tank wins the competition takes the cake. Why have a single vendor situation in tanks. When every thing else is be...

It can not happen that a GSGR for a tank does not carry an upper limit of Gross weight. As far as canards are concerned then the reason they are absent from Tejas is because IAF insisted on not having canards on Tejas, as they didn't have any experience with canards (Su-30 mki wasn't there when Tejas was being designed).
