... I mean 18m will provide a large error margin if used in cars or trains right ? A few days ago ISRO had spoken of equipping locomotives with GPS.Eventually if we wanted to shift this to our system....we would still have a long way to go ... The existing GPS system is not going away for civilian ...

So, who is the boss? DRDO? The boss is the (wo)man who runs the country - the PM. Some PMs sat on the Pokhran tests and one PM chose to go ahead with it. That one decision has made the biggest difference to India's geopolitical position. Defence expenses are funded by tax-payer money. So tax payers...

Rohitvats, this is not Pakistan. The Indian Army don't rule this country. They have a boss and he calls the shots.
The Indian Army will buy what they are told to buy - if someone bothers to tell them that they don't have a choice.

Rohitvats, you're entitled to your opinion. The Brahmos Nose Tip. How is it different from the earlier version? Apart from being black in colour (Maybe a carbon composite tip - but to what benefit?) it looks similar. Nice try Sunil but your logic is misleading and apologetic. No one is asking for the entire Brahmos Mk II system to be declared qualified. People are asking for one test to be declared a success . Why does the booster for the Orbital Vehicle have fins? Surely its not going to play a role during Earth orbit escape? I can't imagine the booster staying attached to the Orbital Vehicle long enough during Earth reentry for the fins to make a difference either... any gyan welcome.
