Hey, nice work, Raja Ram.
Lets see what happens, Ram Bharose, I guess.
Man, these snide remarks from the BBC are hard to take, these rascals will be repaid in fine coin by their homegrown terrorists.

Re: Weapons & Equipment for Special Forces
The point is that in the first ring of security, there is high probability that contact will be established.
At that time, at every entry/egress, there need to be atleast a few with small arms with high fire rates/ Decent fully automatic machine pistols / good med range weapons.
Lack of an abili...

Re: Weapons & Equipment for Special Forces
All the Delhi Police and the CRPF had were
SLRs and brens.
Only the Black Cats had AKs. The SPG/NSG guys had MP5s.
All the dirty work of killing the terrorists seems to have been done by the CRPF.
If one is going to put the CRPF/Delhi Police as the first ring of security, one should give th...

Re: Snipers of the Indian Army
Folks in the US might have seen the NBC program on the Barrett ripoff - the Maadi Griffin 50 cal. By the way the maker of this 50 cal rifle is a retired school teacher. Amazing thing, it cost lot less than the barrett (1/10th or something) and is easily assembled.
To clarify, when I said breathing...

Re: Snipers of the Indian Army
Ah! A fine topic. The secret is in the breathing. Honestly pranayama can do wonders here.
As an aside, i cant imagine why good snipers would be hard to find in any professional army. They are only a handpicked few. We should have competent snipers.
As an another aside, check out the berbers of M...

Re: What kind of equipment do the Indian police have?
'Tough job' is an understatement. Allow me to repeat, a policeman (ie a street cop) is no better than a house watchman in India in terms of quality of life.
If we spent a good chunk of the money for improving conditions for the police, we would spend a lot less on defence via counter insurgency.<P...

Re: What kind of equipment do the Indian police have?
This is precisely why I was suggesting the shotgun as the effective low cost weapon. A pump action is reliable and sturdy.
In a way, I think all these terrorist strikes are good. They wake us up. Ours is a fri***g nation that thinks a 2.3% spending rate is excessive when surrounded by hostiles wit...

Re: What kind of equipment do the Indian police have?
Why do our cops not have 12 bore shotguns?
The shells are cheap, can be reloaded (so practice is a lot less expensive) and can be converted to slug barrels for more precise work.
Rifles are expensive puppies in India, where local facilities and infrastructure suck.
All squad cars in the US ha...

Re: Indian Army's Light Machine Guns
Another depravity of the pakis using these hollow points. Just spoiled my sunday for me thinking of the jawans who got shot with them.
It has been most upsetting to hear of reports in Kargil of jawans preferring to take a AK56 instead of the INSAS when they could lay their hands on one. As I said ...

Re: More Supreme sacrifices - List of Kargil Heroes
Yes, most indian citizens in India and abroad are still blissfully wrapped up in their lives,
but, this is where BR is performing an invaluable contribution; if we keeping parrotting the message long enough. The good in our people will awake and they will recognize the various issues facing us.
...
