Re: Indian Navy News & Discussion - 12 April 2021
No ji for me. Yes, I was implying that. CG is not restricted to EEZ when needed. It's not like the "boats" stop once it crosses the EEZ. The major limitation of the Indian coast guard equipment is that the ships are mostly for operations in India's immediate periphery. They don't have shi...

Re: Indian Navy News & Discussion - 12 April 2021
^^^ Excellent observation, we have multiple high end warships and offshore petrol vessels running arround performing such rescue operations. This only underscores the requirement of a larger fleet for the Indian Navy. My personal opinion on this is to have a an lengthend Saryu class with the below ...

Re: Twin Engine Deck Based Fighter (TEDBF): News & Discussion
Well we currently operate the 40 odd MiG29K's from the original 45 in 2 squadrons and 1 flight(INAS 303, INAS 300, A flight of INAS 551), if memory serves me right. So that would make it 18 per squadron. But only 15 from the squadron are may be embarked at any time, I guess.

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Armed Forces
Litening pods have been on Jaguars since the late 1990s. I believe delivery started in 1998 (?). Admiral saab, The presence of LDP from 1990's i was aware of, but this Jag had its starboard side 30mm canon removed and faired over, where this LDP is now mounted. Wasn't aware of this upgrade being ma...

I am also saying the same. There could be 1-2 squadron with just 2 seaters for conversion plus lift training. We have 18 LCA 2 seater on order, we may need another 20-40 (if all our rookies get additional LIFT training then 40) double seaters. That's not what I am saying, fanne ji. It won't be a de...

There is also a trainer manufacturing facility with some 3 or 4 planes a year. Maybe that will be churning these planes. Once Mig 21 is gone, and lateral movement of fighter pilot reaches a tipping level, fresh pilots would be joining LCA squadrons first (currently you have experienced pilots, so s...

sorry without satire let me make my case - We need heavy lift capability - in very high numbers. These are all IL-76 ++ capacity aircraft (and associated range). If you look at the number, we should try indigenous effort. 1. Transportation - some 30-40 numbers ( We have 11 C-17 towards it and shoul...

There used to be a Litening-IV pod fitted on a dedicated 8th pylon, in front of the center fuselage hard point on the right edge of the fuselage. Actually the 321 has lower range with respect to 319 due to its higher overall weight. But given that the aircraft will primarily have a regional role for us, the range and endurance will be more than sufficient for our needs.

An32 could be various couriers that IAF flies as part of its logistics ops to ferry parts, modules and assemblies back and forth from various bases. An32's also operate as part of ASTE so it could just be routine ops.

Isn't this system provided by the Russians? Did they design and provide us with a different system, from what is used on the Kuznetsov? Or it is an indigenous designed system.
