Re: MRCA News and Discussion

havent seen any clear proof as to Rafale being completly French. Can The French deliver the first of 18 aircraft by 2013, considering their production rate for this year is 11 aircraft. Boeing makes 40 Super Bugs in a year. I have grown to like Rafale much more but the French behaviour lately isn't ...

well one Pinaka battery has 6 launchers, each with 12 rockets, thus they can deploy 72 rockets very quickly, a battery can neutralize 1000m * 800m out to 45km, ideal to take out an entire air base. Well EDE has been ground tested for years, already in 2006, for GE to develope and test the EPE will take no time and the fact is even if we fund it, we'll get back our royalties when USN super Bugs begin MLU in the next decade. secondly US threat libraries are extensive and are always much larger, ...

But problem with any US product is the political one mainly. We can not simply trust them. Not this Obama Administration. Other one will be Tech transfer. Mr. Shukla is fantasizing. I don't even know where to start with punching holes in his little daydream. (a) The US would never mount a SF op with so many complexities. They learned well from eagle claw, urgent fury, gothic serpent, etc. - they keep their SF ops simple. (b) pak nukes aren't concentra...

India was given a oppourtunity to become part of the f-35 but we refused, i dont see any reason why we can't have US collabo on the MCA. IMHO, Super Horny is still the ideal aircraft, firstly its the only aircraft that can be delivered by 2013 period. No other contender can confidently say that. Secondly the IRST on block 2 SH's will go on board the fuesalage and not drop tank like some people think. http://www.flightglobal.com/asset...

aim-120C-5 has a range of 105km,

aim-120 C-7 has a range of around 130km

Aim-120D has 30nm more range than the c-7, which puts the range around 180km.

mig-35 wont begin production till 2013/2014, looking at russian nature of delay well the mig wont arrive in India before end 2015 thats if production really begins in 2013, it usually takes well over 2.5 years for a single unit to be produced. F-16 is capable of deploying Mica, Magic, Delilah, Popey...

what use is a russian missile when more than half of BVR missiles in our inventory are malfunctioning, r-27/r-77s, kh-31a/ps are not reliable. The mig-35 is the worst choice. SH is the ideal aircraft. SH wins hands down in a technical POV in relation with price.
