Re: Indian Military Aviation
RIP. India has lost another brave, dedicated and talented soul. Something is really fishy. Wg Cdr (retd) Rajiv Kothiyal, who had worked with Singh for several years on the light combat aircraft programme in the mid-1990s, said: “It is impossible for me to digest that he has committed suicide. Baldev...

Re: CT and COIN operations in India: News, Images and Discus
Seeing a shotgun being used by Indian forces for the first time ever. They must be using it to fire teargas shells or something, but I guess they can be loaded with conventional ammunition too. The shotgun doesn't have the calibre (usually about 40mm) to be used for tear gas cartridges. There are &...

Thanks Rahul for sharing the Pics.
I have to say.. The Museum is in such a bad shape. The private airport hanger next near my house is in better shape (and maintained).
I suggest this be turned over to a private organization. Let them maintain it for a fee.

^^^ This is a BMP2-Sarath
WIKIPedia: BMP-2 "Sarath" based NBC reconnaissance vehicle. Externally very similar to the basic vehicle but fitted with all kinds of sampling, testing and marking systems. The NBCRV was developed by DRDO and VRDE and has been ordered by the Indian army.

A total of 180 KN thrust for a 25 Ton aircraft.. Its going to be badly underpowered... wonder why IAF wants it like this when aircrafts that are significantly less heavier than them have more thrust... it will end up with a higher thrust than 90kN from day one. even otherwise, how is it badly under...

US Pilot Reviews SU-30 MKI post red flag. I had not seen this one before. Came as an utter surprise to hear him mock the Rambha. He said F-16 and 15s could consistently beat our flankers. And what is the claim about 60 sec gap for take off.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlJndMO1O80&feature=rel...

During my commutes from Santa Clara to San Fransisco I used to regularly see AN-124s parked at the Moffet Naval Air Station (Near Sunnyvale). It is a common knowledge that US (both private companies and federal agencies) regularly use AN-124 http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/an-124...

As I understand, we require a 90 KN class engine to power LCA which has payload of over 4000Kg. But does we still require 90 KN if payload is reduced to say 2000 kg The only thing i want to understand is that whether LCA in purely interceptor role (Original role for which it was perceived) with all...
