Re: Indian Missiles News & Discussions - 17 Dec 2018

That so called PIB statement doesn't look authentic. "PIB (Defence Wing)" what is that? "Har kaam desh ke naam" the "ke naam" part is gramatically incorrect. This is the link to the actual statement from PIB site - https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1805148

IAF Chief while talking about Rafale Rafale is a good deal Dhanoa said a contract was signed in March 2006 for 20 Tejas aircraft to be delivered between April 2009 and December 2010. "Out of these 20 aircraft, only five were received ... Again a contract was signed in December 2010 for 20 more ...

Re: AMCA News and Discussions

The shape of the nose and cockpit resembles that of the Su-34. Could this be a tandem seat configuration? Look at the head on cad drawings. Tarmak007 mentions "Pilot associate to reduce pilot workload' in the AMCA Menu. The current configuration of the cockpit has no room behind, so tandem sea...

So before this deal HAL had to manufacture 180 Su30s. Till now they have delivered 119. It would have taken them a while before the next 60 will be delivered. So why this need to sign a deal for another 42? Just to make the Russians happy?

In the recent GPS show - Nov 24, 2012 Fareed talked to Robert Kaplan who had very interesting observation on the "Indian Sub-Continent". Yes Fareed used that word. Kaplan talked about the geographical location and the ancient dynasties of India; Nalanda, Gupta, Maurya etc and about how the...

With a change in the MB seat, would this have an impact on the ergonomics of the cockpit? I hope there is not much effort required on cockpit ergonomics because of the change.

A few thoughts on the current situation. This is in stark contrast to the US media's coverage of the Hazare business... even though India-office reporters are filing their stories, often stuffed with hyperbole to attract professional attention, those stories are tucked away in the South Asia sectio...

From Ajai Shukla's article...

Only three major milestones noted for Tejas Mark 1 FOC
What remains is to integrate a long-range missile; to enable mid-air refuelling; and to enable the Tejas to fly as slow as 200 kmph.
Interesting to see that mid-air refuelling would be done on Mark 1.

SaiK, Here the high tide caused waves which were more than expected for the separation distance between the big ship and the smaller naval ship. An observation on the J-20. It looks like the plane is making taxi runs and undergoing initial cheks. Normally, (Tejas, JSF, Pak-Fa) when such tests are done, the plane never come out in their final colour schemes. We have seen others in their green and yellow primers. Is there any reason why J-20 w...

From the article in BBC posted by SanjayM The country - like India - has never signed the NPT. It too has a small nuclear arsenal.
