Re: Managing Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
China propagates perceptions of external threat domestically to keep its populace distracted from the shortcomings of the Chinese economy and internal socio-political issues. Drumming up nationalistic fervor works to the favor of the Politburo. The Chinese positions on the South China Sea dispute, t...

Re: BR Forum Feedback
I am an avid reader and lurker for the most part. I registered only to announce my late friend Harish's passing away. Otherwise I would not have. When I was actively reading BRF back in 2004-2005 it used to be to me a go-to place for an apolitical objective factually and intellectually abundant disc...

I am guessing that the Styx could be retained as decoys to draw CIWS and short range SAM while the Brahmos could home in for the kill against an enemy battle group.
Also Styx isn't that bad. It will be more cost effective to blow up tanker heading East with a Styx than using a Brahmos.

Re: Managing Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)
China is the biggest threat to peace, security and environment right now. I am quite confident that the next major war will involve them if not started by them. Their leaders seem to think that fascist expansions are possible in the 21st century. It will eventually lead to their downfall and bring g...

Re: Corruption in Arms Deals - News and Analysis
An impressive sounding copy pasted quote which does nothing to address the realities expressed in Karan M's prior post. Why don't you go into politics, Madhu G, and save all those on BR or even elsewhere? By doing so, you would graduate from being an "internet warrior", to quote your own ...

Re: Corruption in Arms Deals - News and Analysis
If even half of our righteous internet forum warriors stepped out under the bright sun and participated in elective politics, take the reins and lead our country to a brighter and honest tomorrow, these scandals would not even occur in the first place. That aside, I am slightly disappointed with the...

Around the Globe you will find companies consolidating their investments to one platform, one vendor and one technology.
I think at least on the no. of involved countries/entities, the Rafale trumps over the EF.

Re: MRCA Discussion - October 2, 2010
That's why I am pegging it on Rafale. We have carriers being built. Although we have Mig-29Ks on order, having more ground-based carrier-capable increases our strategic strike capability if required. Our Air Force is acquainted with French Avionics (Mirage, SU-30MKI, etc) and our politicos can be co...

EPE is on offer to India, I said Aim-120D can be fired from the SH, didnt say anything about India getting Aim-120D, will we get it? Probably. Anyways even the Aim-120C-7 shows more promise than the ageing r-77. They have trouble getting one brahmos onto the MKI and your talking about 3 on the mig....

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
I believe that the Rafale should be opted for the following reasons: 1. IAF likes the Mirage 2000 and we already have the logistics to support similar French aircraft. 2. The French are politically viable. We can buy nuclear reactors from them is one case in point. 3. Though the Rafale lacks an AESA...
