Yah very, it would have been awesome to see two Indian moon missions within the span of 1-2 months. Man, a lot of people are going to be disappointed, if not dismayed. Let's hope the company can take it up at a future date!

Nice, which institute built this. I'm pretty sure it's not CDAC, and it's not imported. So did the IITM( Indian institute of tropical meterology) develop the computer. If so, very impressive, I thought the IITM was only involved in climate analysis, not in building supercomputers. So they 'beat' CDA...

The Arihant was officially commissioned in August/2016. Since the accident occurred sometime in October of 2016, the sub was only really operational for about 2 months! Anyway, good that it's back in action. We do know that Arihant fired a "Sagarika" missile twice, once in Nov/2015, and th...

Sickened, disgusted by the frequency of "accidents" in India. Whether it is road accidents, fires in buildings, or drownings of students on an outing. It is happening far, far too often. Yes, accidents happen, as they say, but the same kind, over and over again, with so much loss of life? ...

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion - Sept 2016

A certain dubious news channel is reporting that the GSAT-11, weighing 5725 kg, is being sent off to French Guyana for launch later this month. Any truth in that? If it is accurate, why has no other news outlet or even Spaceflight Now etc, reporting it? Perhaps that is why this channel( *D*V) is dub...

Excellent test by DRDO! Going by memory, yesterday's ABM test was the 13th overall, and that includes one or two simulated ones, where no missile was actually intercepted. There were two failures among the 13 tests. But one of those involved a missile, whether interceptor or target, not even taking ...

Some valid observations, but just a tad over-the-top on the only assembled in India idea. Can't believe someone could be so brazenly arrogant, or stupid, about India's achievements in 2017. Even a non-technical layman can spot the audacious arrogance and/or ignorance.

It's hard to believe that India had no nuclear deterrent in the period of 1992-1997. The lowest estimates from those days put the number at about 30 " Hiroshima type" devices. And the upper figure would be 100, probably not credible. What was missing was a developed missile delivery capabi...
