Re: India Nuclear News and Discussion 4 July 2011

Still waiting for that commissioning of the PFBR, it's 2019. Yah, can't believe there are people advocating India give up its nuclear capability including Arihant. What are these commentators' position on China? Do they strongly request China to do the same? Because India is not only thinking of Pak...

Re: Hindu-Buddhist Relations

Here's one- in Bhavabhuti's play "Malati and Madhava" a Buddhist nun Kamandaki, living in a Buddhist convent, acts as a go between to bring the two main characters( both Hindu) together. A Hindu dramatist saw nothing unusual in portraying a Buddhist in a positive way. It speaks of peaceful...

There's a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, which will make its landfall in the next 1-2 days. Would this impact the GSLV Mark2/GSAT-7A launch?

Probably the Indian government, as a sop to overseas Punjabis, and also as part of the peace and healing process in Punjab, took many people off the banned, no-entry list. Atwal was one of those. Fa-Hien came into India anytime between 390-405 CE, the ruler at the time was Chandragupta Vikramaditya, a Hindu. That could not have escaped his attention. Less than 3 weeks after that, the PSLV was launched on June 23. Earlier this year, the GSLV Mark 2 ( with the ill fated GSAT 6A) went up on March 29...
