Re: MRCA Discussion - October 2, 2010
Please note where the credit should go.. The contenders made major modifications to match IL-76's locking systems and not the Russkies to prove a point. jee.. Why would IL-76 locking system be a test parameter otherwise. Also, IL76 obviously has an edge, because we have already been using it to dat...

Re: People's Republic of China Nov 22, 2009
India's industrial output is nowhere near China's in 2004, basically comparing to China, india has an much "inflated" currency. As for being free or not, few in China cares indian's freedom, many Chinese who have been to india, become quite arrogant towards india, more so than most of the...

Re: India Nuclear News And Discussion
This is very bad reporting. While giving clearance to Jaitapur, Jairam Ramesh shut down mines operating in two districts and also cancelled any chances of future liscences. This was done to preserve the nature and eco tourism in the region. A good decision. The main problem in Jaitapur is being crea...

Re: India Nuclear News And Discussion
I don't think so. Even if the project runs on schedule, Maharashtra may not be able to afford the power. Maharashtra could buy a Jaitapur's worth of power from Gujarat in 2 years time, but it is unable to do it because of high transmission losses and subsidies. Same issue as what scotched the Dabho...

Re: India Nuclear News And Discussion
How do we get cheap nuke electricity to mango man in a hurry? We don't. Nuke electricity is 15 years away. No one except DAE (with 700MW PHWR) seems to know how to build plants faster, and on time. 8 years away . . . Jaitapur's first plant is expected to go critical in 2018. Should solve problems f...

Please do not forget that it was NDA government (a) Tried to sell off a lot of PSU's at dirt cheap rates (b) Coffin scam I think everyone in Maharashtra is still feeling effect of Enron disaster. Money minded morons on both sides of the parliament. IAS lobby is equally bad. Election commission shoul...

Re: China Military Watch
So (a) China is still not integrating the WS-10A on its J-10 fighters because it is not able to match the AL-31's performance (b) China is ordering more AL-31s from Russia for their own fighters and FC-1 / JF-17 (c) We are supposed to believe that they have a 5th generation aircraft prototype ready ...

Re: MRCA Discussion - October 2, 2010
The AESA and Meteor were still cleared for integration. Between the UK, Germany, India, there's enough clout to over-rule any inertia from Italy and Spain. With France you need only get access to the upgrades that they deem necessary for their own aircraft and you get to pay their prices. India wil...

Re: PAK-FA and FGFA Thread
Hi (Posting after a long long time) As per the livefist article, the FGFA deal is similar to the Su-30MKI deal, and we have done it to success before. ----------------------Su35----------PAKFA Prototype-------------1993---------2008/09 Deal------------------1996---------2010 Delivery---------------2...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
actually this idea seems to be true but practically we need this deal to absorb certain new technologies and also an aircraft to replace the ones who have become obselete starting from Mig-21 to Mig-27 Tejas programme is taking lot of time. Anyone can say su-30 is the best fighter in this world, bu...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
I personally hope they do for Rafale. Their purchase and maintenance will bankrupt their economy.
Personally, I hope we just scrap the MRCA and go in for more Su-30MKI, with spinoffs from PAK-FA added to the new ones.
Su-30MKI plus PAK-FA spinoffs is superior to any option on board for MRCA deal.

Re: Su-30: News and Discussion
Well i guess each AF decides for it self what is best suited to meet their requirement depending on their Platform/Tactics/Weapons/Sensors available to them , so a F-35 with the kind of sensor fusion and other broad capability at USAF disposal can perform the same strike mission with a single pilot...
