Re: Possible Indian Military Scenarios - XII
Vivek, what i can't understand is why our response via cruise missiles is so inadequate and minimal, aren't Brahmos and Nirbhoy going to be mass produced at your timeframe and used without restraint.. In any case thanks for taking the pain in writing up the well researched scenario's, its a real so...

Re: Kargil War Thread - VI
Infinite scenarios can be built to answer the above, the point is first it needs to be established if there exists a 'political will' to think along those lines. The fact is GoI does not want PoK back unless TSP gives it to us on a platter . exactly. my prior post was not actually specific to PoK. ...

Re: Kargil War Thread - VI
Kargil was/is an administrative, political and strategical mess, salvaged to an extent by our best in the world soldiers on the frontline. It was an excellent opportunity to take back PoK, limited only to the extent that USA/CHINA would have stopped it at some point. But our government should have a...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
If the engine goes to GE, I would definitely like the rafale or EF for MRCA. Having half the fleet dependent on US is suicide in my opinion. why deal with a supplier who supplies the country you are most likely to and most frequently go to war with, regularly, on the same technological level and so...

Re: Pakistan arms sales, ops, doctrine, etc
USA appears to be continuing the policy of arming TSP sufficiently so that it will withstand any Indian attack for a long enough duration by which a ceasefire can be arranged. This way USA will always have a tool i.e. TSP. And USA will make money from both TSP and INDIA. Makes perfect sense for USA....

we should look for value for money. upfront unit cost or life-cycle cost is only one of the many factors. fair comprehensive analyais may favour procuring something costing double or more. common sense indicates that developing from scratch as per our own unique r...

^^^^^^^^^^^ Brilliant idea Fani. I guess the plan would also extend to ex-DRDO Chiefs ( and Scientific Adviser to the PM) who emigrated to the US after retirement ? And that the plan would also extend to ex-Railway, Telecom, IAS, Indian Oil, BARC etc. officers who dump their Govt. service to move o...

Re: Indian Army: News & Discussion
The stated IAF chief went on to become the India rep for the Israeli vendor!! The only way to deal with this is to separate the procurement process from the anti corruption investigation... conflict of interest has to be eliminated completely. no decision maker should be allowed to take up any conf...

except for PM, President and top level Defence Forces commanders, for obvious reasons, no other is worth protecting. such waste of money. for such incompetent people. these public servants should travel by train in general class just like most public does.
