Re: Su-30MKI: News and Discussion - August 9, 2014

For one ASRAAM is modern than R73. Second I believe it is longer ranged than R73, reaching near BVR . Read somewhere it can be integrated with aircraft radar(i presume datalink for near BVR shot). Regarding SU30 weapons, there was a comment by Israeli rep in one of the defence show, that Derby was ...

For people who keep on pushing lies about the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet's performance by claiming it as a 9G (some here even claimed it is above 9G and limited to 9G by software), please read Boeing's own manual to clarify this once and for all. http://www.boeing.com/defense-space/military/fa18ef/doc...

This translation thing always confuses me. What did they mean by " At the stage production of technical documentation are the development of a flat nozzle and the reverse". If i get it- Reverser's meant TVC????? One of the F15 SMTD had tested TVC/Thrust reverser and then this idea was fina...

Re: LCA news and discussion

Ok Question - Will size of the antennae have effect in determining no of TR modules. More you have on less area more will be heat generated . If you have a 700 mm antennae like ZHUk-AE and instead of putting 1100 modules you decide to put 2000 . Can you simply achieve it without any hassle. And the ...

Re: LCA news and discussion

Even if they do manage to get AESA Considering the small nose of Tejas , we cant expect to get a great performance from RADAR. My guess is at max 700 TR module. LCA nose and small? You may say the aircraft is small, the inlets look small, the engine is small- but nose? That there radome is straight...

^^That's the 11 HP version. I couldn't find any pics of it. Doubt if it actually exists. Considering the very public announcement by the IAF regarding giving the Gripen another chance to let them test the "real" thing (NG), if the 11 HP version was really on the cards I guess the IAF woul...

"But looks like This is Fan blade indeed. Its a real heart broker." Again, how do you know this is a fan blade and not a radar blocker? What visual differences can you find between a radar blocker and a fan blade? Apply some logic to this issue as well. 1. The engine is not directly align...

Doesn't 43 million $ + couple million $ more, Supposedly buy a Brand new built Gripen NG with Swash-Plate Aesa Radar with Meteor Integration & all the Rest of the State of the Art Stuff. So wouldn't Buying Spanking new Gripen NGs be better than Upgrading more than 2 Decade old Mirages, which wi...

Your first question: I pretty sure the Su-30 MKI is capable of carrying the Meteor, but the real question is does it need to? If one of the Euro canards gets chosen would the Su-30MKI need to be integrated with the meteor? The three contenders are all great A2A fighters. The meteor is going to be i...
