Re: Maldives Civil-Military Issues

I have been reading the thread and the possibility of India bribing it's neighbours to prevent the entry of PRC in its neighbours. The thing with this approach is that bribes have a way of getting bigger with time. The most important point is that PRC has pockets that are deeper that India's. If we ...

Agreed but I think we are in an early stage here. At next stage we really need to increase orders big time. Baba Kalyani is on record saying he can give 100 guns a year. Akshay, while i appreciate the point you are making. I am against the piece meal order of any item. Better make a multi year fixd price contract for the required number of guns. It makes the whole process predictable and keeps the vendors engaged.

The refueling of a boat is a long drawn process that can take 2 years or more. So if the boat reactor can last 30 years without refueling it will not go out of service for 6 years of it's service life.

Obviously, Saab can’t give “full” ToT when the Gripen flies with an US engine. But it could be that we will get full use and control of the airframe? Import lobby can only mess up things when domestic suppliers are only OFB. By involving OFB and pvt sector players the ATAGS has become too big to fail. The dhanush can still be scrapped. Bit of that happens. It will just be replaced with the ATAGS.
