No Indian media reported the number of HWTs ordered. Sputnik says 'over 70'.

I suspect this is the same deal originally intended for Varunastra, at 73 units.

UAVs are happening under ADE.

AI, Robotics is under CAIR. Agree, more focus is required.

But all is dependent on funding. Am hoping NDA2.0 is more liberal with military, R&D funding vs NDA 1.

We really need to get Tejas Mk1A into ops. Its software cockpit display fusion is amazing and if we can pull it off, shows that we can do what gora-sahabs do at a fraction of the cost! Same as several of our desi DRDO programs, most of which were/are on a shoestring budget compared to western design...

Good move, keeps budgetary allocations out of DRDO/ISRO and prevents diversion OR stress on their projects. Keeps responsibility separate for focus, monitoring, also allows many more projects for space to be out of ambit for traditional DRDO/ISRO projects.

Hate to say this but with this behavior, the Muslim community is literally losing their influence with the BJP, and completely showing their disassociation with the Hindu community.

In effect they are disenfranchising themselves and making themselves irrelevant to the national aim.

Those 40 Su-30s can carry heavy centerline loads but will also be heavier, slower, less agile than regular MKIs. If additional EMP/EMI/EMC hardening is part of the package, they could also be ALA carriers. See discussion here.
