Re: India selects Typhoon & Rafale for MMRCA shortlist - Par

Pretty much clear that MoD@GoI is not headed the F-35 way. They'v got their hands full with PAK-FGFA. Very much justified beacuse F-35 is not yet fully inducted in to service. Maybe the navy could take a call, but thats much later. Now if its L1, keeping the 9 costing parameters in mind, Rafale is a...

So if EFT is selected for IAF, then Raf might just b with the Navy, for its 2nd Aircraft carrier.

Re: India selects Typhoon & Rafale for MMRCA shortlist - Par

I was wondering, a few days back when Rafale was said to have been rejected as per media reports. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/french-rafale-out-of-race-for-iaf-fighters/447745/2 http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=4042443 So now that Rafale is in the final 2, what were the possible reasons ...

Re: India selects Typhoon and Rafale for MMRCA shortlist

Last post deleted owing to Hindi/ Devnagri. Honestly I didnt know that some of the people couldnt read Hindi here. Apologies if this violates the clause of participation in a discussion in an Indian forum. 1) FA -18 failed at High altitude tests. 2) F-16 if bought allowed India to have F-35 as a fut...

Re: India selects Typhoon and Rafale for MMRCA shortlist

^^^^ This IND-igen-I-s-A-tion of Eurofighter would mean smthn like the real Katrina. Brit mom & Indian Kashmiri dad. So what we'll eventually have is an IND-eURO-Fighter. But then the question is are we going to do an MKI here the way we did it with Su-30. The word is "भारतीयकरण" for भ...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

Lovely pics..!! Although I m a die hard EF fan, there is something that makes Rafale a class apart. The reason EADS & Dassault parted ways in the Delta Canard fighter program was the fact that EADS wanted a Hard core Air Superiority Combat Aircraft. Dassault on the other hand, wanted a Fighter t...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

By the way if f-16 is out, SH isnt any better...

I remember watchin "Behind Enemy Lines" where both F/A-18 pilots fall prey to SAM fire by the Russian backed Serbs.
The funny part is, Owen Wilson was flying the SH for Aerial photography of mass graves.

Worth a watch...!!

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

Gripen NG is LCA itself. It does not fulfill the role of an MMRCA to be really frank. The above report about Russian mismanagement of defence ties shows the level of corruption and moral deterioration that has crept inside the Kremlin doors not withstanding capable leaders like Putin. Its not a bad ...

Avid ...take a look... The officials confided that four of the five aircraft in the MMRCA competition faced problems starting up in the rarefied atmosphere of Leh, and the IAF had to ask the manufacturers to undertake modifications in the aircraft's fuel systems. http://beta.thehindu.com/news/articl...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

By the way. the Eurofighter and the Rafael, both carry the same ACX DNA. Except that size and cost being on the higher side when it comes to EF, Rafael is a ligher and much more agile/maneuverable machine due to its proven Air Carrier Landing capability. However, EF has room to add more. It depends ...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

http://www.f-16.net/f-16_forum_viewtopic-t-8995.html My bet is still F-35. Funding from India can accelerate the production and subsequent delivery. If you asked me personally, we are yet to operate a US designed aircraft. But given a choice, knowing that F-22 Raptor is still inaccessible, there is hope in F-35. We need to understand that India faces CLEAR & PRESENT DANGER on both the EASTERN and WESTERN Frontiers. An Aircraft which is less ...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

Ask the Americans for F-22s. The US Congress isnt givin it to anybody, not even the Brits. But if India can fight it out for that kind of Tech, its truly a strategic partnership. F-35s are still under research, however, in the present times, if we have to fight on two fronts, the only bird that can ...
