Re: LCA News and Discussions

Folks, we are presuming that the IAF is blind to what is happening . What if the upgradation while production is on is at the behest of IAF itself? Do you people think that hasty induction of 20 fighters with lot of scope for upgradation, to be stationed at the farthest point from the known enemies...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

so IAF wants a hedge and DRDO/HAL need serious help in some areas. both would use the MRCA deal as a vehicle to get what they want. PMO sits in between and 'balances' the two sets of needs. In that case our only hope would be the tiffy or the rafale although it will still be highly doubtful if thos...

Re: LCA News and Discussions

LSp 5 was supposed to fly by june end. That came and went and then ADA chief said it will be in the first week of august. That date passed too if we are not living in the future. Now they say the flight will be in the second last week of august. Hoping to see it happen atleast now. I agree to Mehta'...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

LCA MK1 & MK2 >> Light MRCA >> Medium MKI >> Heavy But Chitkara over the years the role of LCA has evolved from being a mere interceptor to replace ageing Mig's to a multi role flight. When mark 2 comes out with the better engine with upgraded avionics I am sure it will be comparable to the Gri...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

I am just beginning to wonder where will the MMRCA exactly fit in. I mean LCA will get the IOC by this yearend and FOC by 2012. by then the mark 2 will be ready and the good thing about LCA is they can be produced quickly. If so by 2014 we should be having all the mark 1 and possibly the LSP 's of m...

Re: LCA News and Discussions

Well people, if you read the oldest literature regarding the LCA, you'll find that its primary role was described as being offensive air support. The air defence role was secondary. Of course, by design the LCA seems like it'll do a good job at both. But then Karthik sir isnt that the whole reason ...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

I just hope the rumor about IAF shortlisting Rafale and EF typhoon comes true. Probably we can add Gripen just so France and Euro consortium enters into a secret deal push us into a corner during the negotiations. My first post. yippie :)
