Re: Newbie Corner & Military Miscellaneous
I have a very N00b question here. I just saw the movie Border again for the nth time. So in it Wg. Cd. Andy Bawa(Jackie shroff) says while addressing a distress call from Major Chandpuri that we only have Hunters at this base and they do not have night flying equipments. What would encompass these '...

Re: Possible Indian Military Scenarios - XII
Any Indian author who has written of a full blown war. Recently read Mukul Deva's Lashkar...it was more of a surgical strike and a few things were too good to be true. Anyways if there are books regarding full blown wars then please tell me. I have read Flashpoint which was pretty fine. Any other in...

Could have done something like what the amriki did with F-16. But i guess the ruskies do not have that aesthetic bit in them. And yes if it performs better then it fine no matter how it looks like.

Re: Newbie Corner & Military Miscellaneous
Quite some time ago there was a news that Indian defense establishment is considering raising a marine force. So is this going to be centered around the IA's 91 Infantry brigade being sea lifted by navy's amphibious fleet or are we raising a separate marine force? And why not raise a separate marine...

@ Rahul M So if you say they are then taking that the Indian missiles CEP is around 2 times more accurate than Paki missiles. So we would probably then need a warhead half the size of what wud be in a Paki mijjile? IMHO that would mean that the total Indian weapons grade plutonium is actually half t...

Re: Indian Missiles and Munitions Discussion
You say 400-500m, would that in anyway affect the size of a Nuclear warhead? I mean since our doctrine is not just blowing stuff up with the nuke, wouldn't the Indian missiles need a lower yield warhead to overwhelm a target as compared to the one with 400-500m?? or is that distance negligible enoug...

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Well, I read in a book about Kargil war long ago, i think the one Mr. Sawant wrote that IA did use Air burst HEER shells.
Before this it was timer fuzes. They calculated the time it would take for a shell to land and then time it to explode just seconds before it to create an air burst effect.

http://the-diplomat.com/2011/07/24/china%E2%80%99s-two-pronged-maritime-rise/ For years, China focused its military spending on the People’s Liberation Army, while the Air Force and Navy served as little more than adjuncts to the Army. ^^
The IN's plan seems to be to pressure Pakistan not by sinking its ships but by choking their sea based economy by cluttering the harbor with enough damaged ships so no new ships can come and de-board any cargo.
