The footprint for a gas turbine might be smaller than a n=plant, However when you factor in the 4 exhaust manifolds and the fresh air maniolds A lot of prime real estate will be used up on multiple decks These will have a dia of approx 24 inches each x 8 (withlagging maybe 36 inches) Also with such ...

Fall back options available. You will not need extra gas turbines for E=mals if the vessel is diesel elec...

Podded propulsion can give the same speed as shafted propulsion. you can have n-number pods. The speed of the vessel is mainly dependant on hull form and skew of propellor. The size and skew of propellor is matched to engine BHP , Too much of either and u overload/stall the power plant There is not ...

The source is not the best. There is no question of the IAF stopping at 272 aircraft. Hi Vardhank

The idea you just brought forward , is in commercial use , they are called stabalisers, They work on the bernolli effect. and they are effective @ speeds above 15-16 knots.

Most cruise ships have them. At lower speeds and during docking they can be folded.

With a little more green stuff, we can ensure that we use our assets when/where we want to.
