And so far, I have found time only for reading the hazaar posts everyday. But hey, nothing comes close. May BR live for the next hundred years!! Welcome bac...

Re: Bharat Rakshak Celebrates Seven Years!

Good work, boys!

Great!.
We want to know the first 100 members of BRF who are still participating.

Re: Bharat Rakshak Celebrates Six Years!

Congratulations to all of you, Rakesh, Shiv, LNS, Jagan, Rupak, JEM, Phillip, Ramana, and many others. I have been a member since March 1998, visiting everyday. After spending one and a half hours reading the new posts, I am too tired to post. Also, many threads are too technical; canards, avionics,...

Re: P V Narsimha Rao

PV Narasimha Rao has my vote over and above, Charan Singh, VP Singh, Chandrasekhar, Rajic Gandhi, Deve Gowda and IK Gujral due to his initiatives in economic liberalisation and bringing cheer to scores of millions thru prosperity. All DRDO, IAEC and ISRO programmes are culminating in sucesss today b...

Re: LCA is Named Tejas!!!

I have been thinking about the name for 5 years. Tejas is great. It really beat me. How could I have missed it?

I am impressed with Imtiaz Ahmad's research on the word.

That video's great, Shiv.

Re: Remembering a War: The 1962 Indo-China War

suzerainity/autonomy/sovereignity

I see you are not familiar with diplomatese language.

Example:
China has sovereignity over Taiwan and suzerainity over Tibet, in much the same way the British had suzerainity over Hong Hong till 1997.

Some definitions to help in the discussions: suzerain 1. Re: Remembering a War: The 1962 Indo-China War

Hello Manavendra, I said that the 62 war is not over . Can you tell me a date when it was over! Did we accept the withdrawal, the ceasefire? Wasn't there continuing border skirmishes? This is not about the chinese economy, but that the battlefield has enlarged to the economy and other spheres of inf...

Re: Remembering a War: The 1962 Indo-China War

There has been no cease fire, no treaty, no agreement of borders and no agreement on Tibet or Sikkim. The 62 war is not finished. As Nehru said, ..there war will go on or years. Only the battleground has enlarged to include spheres of influence, strategic allies, the UNSC as well as the economy. We ...

Re: Remembering a War: The 1962 Indo-China War

Goood post prc. I like Ohmae and he is mostly right. Nice to hear ideas of a United States of China. In the same vein, there could be a United States of India. Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and to some extent Thailand would be part of the USI. Myanmar is definately part of USC, along with the P...

Re: Remembering a War: The 1962 Indo-China War

By 1949, the east-west divide had crystallised and the lines were drawn. It was a battle between capitalism and communism. It was a battle for world dominance. Sanctimoniously, India took a principled neutral stand, reflecting the need for a multipolar world. China's hold on Tibet in 1950 was tenuous...

Before anyone starts to overestimate China's economic growth, we have to consider acharya link;
This is not new news, except that what is taking so long to materialise.(well the takeover of Hong Kong is one reason, the other is America's continued dalliance with China after the takeover. We have to wait for BARC's appropriate response. British nuclear scientists have no political reasons to dispute Indian yields. Re: Census India - 2001

Good news all around. However I am concerned about the ration of men to women and see that there are 36 million more men than women. Is the GOI planning to allow more immigration of women to cater for the 36 million lonely men. Russians and south east asian women perhaps. Seriously.
