Re: Indian Army: News & Discussion

The IPKF was under strict orders to not harm civilians - which most Tamils in Sri Lanka were dressed up as. This limitation put on the IPKF was the reason why it sustained losses. A soldier cannot fight with one hand tied behind his back, so to speak. BTW - as any person with knowledge of English k...

Re: Indian Army: News & Discussion

Why is so difficult for some people to call a spade a spade? The above mentioned "Martial Races" are what they are today largely due to the region of India where they come from. This is why they easily defeated the Sri Lankan Tamils who could not withstand their martial ferocity during th...

Re: Indian Army: News & Discussion

I believe we are talking about Sikh Indian Army COAS's here (By the way, Lalli is Jatt surname), and not Sikhs in prominent positions. At one time ,after independence, Sikhs made up around 30% of the Indian army, which number was deliberately reduced by the Indian Govt. after Operation Bluestar in 1...

Re: Newbie Corner & Military Miscellaneous

I may have touched a raw nerve and you may have missed my point! All Indians serve their country (or should) proudly. My point is that no labels, eg, SDRE or such should be used. I fit the category of tall, fair, wheat eating etc, but I do not agree with this labelling. We are all Indians and this is wh...

Re: Newbie Corner & Military Miscellaneous

Hi, I just joined BR after following it for many years. Not all (proud) Indians are SDRE. First and foremost, we are all Indians. We could be tall, fair and wheat eating or SDRE or mongoloid etc. I am a Sikh from Indian Punjab and can face a Pakistani physically anytime. Check out Kabaddi matches on y...
