Re: MRCA (Many Rakshaks Choose Aircraft) Contest - Episode III

Optimal solution to shore up current shortage is via; 1) Acquiring "used" MiG-29s (21 on offer from Russia) and M2K-9s. 2) Improving serviceability of present aircraft (above 75% across the board). 3) Complete upgrades of present aircraft i.e. M2K upgrade and Jaguar re-engine & Darin ...

I'm trying to compute and compare the TWR of Mk1 and Mk2. I got the Mk1 specs from wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrust-to-weight_ratio#Fighter_aircraft

Is TWR normally computed on the empty weight or the MTOW and is the thrust the dry thrust or wet thrust ?

Yet, Tejas is underpowered / 3-legged cheetah. - If Gripen E actually first flew in 2016, what did we test for MMRCA trials ? - If Gripen E was evaluated for MMRCA, does...

One fantastic thing about ISRO is whenever they've had setbacks (GSLV CUS comes to mind), they've taken a step back, investigated the issues thoroughly and then fixed them at the root.
