Couple of funny stories i have been told... Suggest you read the thread again....the period being referred to here is the late 90's ...

Re: Military Flight Safety
Deepak Yadav was a family friend - he was a test piiot who went down in Kiran in the 1980s. If you are talking about him I would like to talk to you. No one wants accidents but after they occur there is a specific sequence of events that must take place before anyone can say what might have happene...

From the above it looks like, that Flt Lt Pandey, while attempting to turn....rolled over and was unable to recover...seems to be an error of judgement...... more experienced pilots re 2 test pilots in this case while practicing for a demo in a Kiran many years ago, died in a fatal crash in Bangalore....

kiki ji, however vehemently you disagree with somebody please find a way to express that in polite terms, as you would in real life. also, it's a good idea to objectively mention how someone is wrong instead of using broad brush adjectives like BS and imagination. Copy that Sir....apologies rendere...

Viv,Sum,Gaur saab My sincere apologies if anyone of you has felt offended, cause that was definitely not the intent. Though wouldn’t it be a lot more intresting if we just stuck to facts, rather than try to create fiction…which seems the case in the post above….I was only pointing towards something wh...

Re: Armoured Vehicles Discussion Thread
The numbers ordered (124) factors 17 tanks extra per regiment as reserves. Each Armored Regiment has 45 tanks. And an Armored Division has 6 Armored Regiments - that makes it 270 tanks. What IA has ordered is tanks for 4 Armored Regiments. My guess is that they'll convert the 140 (I) Armored Brigad...

Re: Armoured Vehicles Discussion Thread
my hisaab: 55 tanks = 1 regiment (though we allegedly operate some @ 40) 3 regiments = 1 armour div. so 248 tanks = 4 regiments + 28 reserve/training/protos = 1 armour div + 1 indep armour brigade. imo 248 more Mk1 should have been ordered, but can Avadi deliver on time for Mk2 to start IOC run in ...

Re: Discussion on Indian Special Forces

Nope...SFF & Special Group come under Estb 22.....which is part of the Cabinet SecretariatGaur wrote:sum,
The post that you are referring to looks very dodgy to say the least. First of all, Est 22 is not "the special group of SFF". Est 22 is SFF.

Re: Discussion on Indian Special Forces
Since everyone seems to have tired out of discussing SG, SFF, Vikas, Est 22, etc and being none the wiser, I strongly suggest that an RTI query be filed to get the clear picture. It will save a lot of heartburn we see on this thread. anyone taking this seriously is hereby condemned to endure Surya'...
