Re: Pokhran II not fully successful: Scientist

Arun_S ji: Silly question. How do we know that the untested S-6 was the same as S-1? Is it based on some inside information you may have or on logical reduction of the available information. Kindly please clarify.

Re: Pokhran II not fully successful: Scientist

Here is a news article, where Sri K Santhanam presents a more-nuanced position, and it is clear beyond doubt that he believes that the Shakti-I was not an unqualified success. Please read on. We should take Sri Santhanam's words very seriously and not attribute everything to some yindoo chankian tho...

Narayanan garu: Please clarify. Santhanam also refers to "based on seismic measurements ..., it is clear " This is a very clear statement, and it does not seem that he is merely passing off somebody's judgment. To me, he is making a statement on the quality of Shakti-I and not just reitera...

I agree with the gist of what you're saying, but hey what is a discussion without a quibble. :) It must also explain what happened, but also explain what did not happen. JS also did one other unpardonable thing: He tried to soften-up Jinnah, who in the end-game was responsible for mass murder. In doing so, he has done, IMO, much harm to the Indian society.

Re: Discussion on Jaswant Singh's book on Jinnah

One comment on the "inevitability of partition." I think this phrase is a red-herring, whether one uses it to support or denounce Congress leaders on the issue of partition. The real question is: what were the choices offered by our then-masters, the British? There were only two options: (...
