May be OT here, but it high time that the GOI revisits the procedure for critical appointments. At such levels, seniority should never take preference above ability/work exp. The whole region has history of very high crime rate, it has nothing to do Afghans studying over there.
However, i do agree that having good relations does not mean that we open our houses to let them stay in.

One side effect of the having RS as Home Minister, is that they cannot take out the Internal security from Home ministry. Probably would have made Rajnath felt low
