SaiK,

Canards can develop vortex too.

We will hear more on LEVCON's as UAV's have started maturing. They will not have much G problems.

Re: LCA News and Discussions

I am not an expert but let me give you general over view. My last post quoting ADA states it is deflected to achieve results. It lowers AOA of wing. It clears your 1 & 2. 3) Yes, it can be one outcome of it. LEVCONS don't perform alone. There are other control surfaces like elevon or elevon equi...

More proof of reduction of AOA with leading edges. This is ADA study. Re: Indian Missiles and Munitions Discussion

No, that is a separate issue. The statement says only "tactical" Prithvis would be withdrawn. It will also provide clarity as Prithvi and Prahaar would clearly go to separate deployment groups based on role. I guess we still have dual use Prithvis in the 250-350 KM range, so the matter of...

The Prithvi's are not going to be removed with immediate effect. The older airframe's built under 1st lot have not just exhausted their life span but also are initial technology. P 1 and P 2 are really old. They use the corrosive liquid propellants. The liquid storage capability has improved and by ...

This MMRCS business is being looked at from filling up the squadron logic, which is very old. Technology changed and so did other factors. Hopefully, they redrafted their priorities.

You are right Victor. Nose droop and loads have led pressure on under carriage and it has made carriage heavy. The frontal portion has hardly any commonality in design, a lot less commonality in avionics, when compared to IAF version. ADA is struggling with the entire package, the LEVCON, the Underc...

Look, the LCA Navy has Vortex Controllers. (LEVCoNs). If ADA wanted a LERX, they would have gone for it. But ADA wants to control Vortex in order to reduce AOA and The drag. Lower AOA is visibility.

Read Here http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-426301.html

The stronger the wingtip vortices, the greater will be the increase in critical angle and the drag. Any factor that decreases wingtip vortex strength will decrease critical angle and drag.

Thank you for the above video. Never knew thrust vectoring defeats A2A missiles. The same may apply to SAM. Will MKI radar be able to lock on stealth Air Craft at a medium range, like above 20 kms? I have seen the Rafale video which tries to lock on a F-22.
