If they are in a navy base, I would imagine that aircraft carriers have specialized piers where the aircraft can be towed onto and then craned aboard.

We need to keep in mind that the weight penalty for a naval fighter is not only in the landing gear but in the entire primary structure and the load paths from the gear and hook to the primary structure. It's not just a question if swapping out the gear.

Short of buying more Embraer-based Netras, the A320 based system is the most sensible idea. If anything, we should have gone with a B737 or A320 based Netra from the get-go. We cannot afford the A330 based systems in numbers and the C295 would lack serious capability.

Air data probe - pitot with a slip indicator. The steel cables are only for mounting/stabilization.
