Re: 2019 General Elections News and Discussion

Up to early 60s Congress was a genuine political organization with a solid second tier of potential successors to Bandit. Then, when he was at his most vulnerable in 63, he unleashed the Kamaraj plan to kneecap potential replacement PMs - the biggest victims were social and financial conservatives l...

Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion

Babaji posted a beautiful picture of a snow-covered mountain range and accompanied it with an ode where he describes Kashmir as "mere desh ka dipt lalat". That is Mahakavi Tulsidas level vocab right there - he called Kashmir the luminous forehead of his country. The poem goes on to state t...

It may not look like it on the surface, but this is a big diplomatic gain for India. To add to Karan's list: A new era of air warfare has finally dawned for India. AWACS, Refuelers, Com jamming, BVR... the big difference this time was TRAINING. Give newly minted IAF pilots the head start they deserve by reestablishing a Tejas OFTU. Let them learn the dark arts early and intensely.

Tejas-SPORT is very exciting. There used to be a MOFTU operating out of an air base in the NE. That’s probably decommissioned with its MiGs. Time to revive an OFTU with a Tejas version mated with Kaveri. That’s about 60 aircraft right there. Another 20 for Suryakirans and 20 for TACDE. A nice round ...

The beauty of cold start is in its unpredictability. Unlike during Parakram, there is no need to move the equivalent of a small town to a concentration area. IBGs have the same functionality of breaching a heavily defended front, and at multiple points. Pakis can never be sure anymore.
