Re: West Asia News and Discussions

I think DT has a price in mind for the Yerushalem thing. My guess is a withdrawal from West Bank settlements. Whether he can force that is another question. This is so that Israel can keep the Golan Heights oil fields.

India should .... A bit of perspective, please? All that has happened is that ONE country of of 200+? UN members, has said they MIGHT shift their Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. What does this have to do with India? AFAIK, Israel has not shifted its international airport to Jerusalem. What is t...

And here comes the REAL threat: US threatens to withdraw from SoKo Winter Olympics Russia is banned, North Korea presumably may not compete and US threatens to boycott. Isn't it possible that the breakup was intentional? It fell into the Japan Ocean, which is infested with Japanese and US ships and subs to go pick up what falls in. The heat shield does not really have to be demonstrated, because what comes down will be quite different with an actual bum. If the gai...

Conflicting reports today. 1. F-22s known to be in SoKo. But they are announcing the war games, so they are clearly not too serious. 2. "Research underway" to "possibly locate more THAAD sites on US coast", which suggests a timeline that is at least weeks away. One interpretation...

If you achieve a kinetic energy for the warhead equivalent to around 7 to 7.5 km/sec you have enough to reach orbit which means you can even hit yourself after going around the dunia. Looks like this point is now clearly proven. How heavy a warhead etc is a minor quibble. Surviving hypersonic re-ent...

The upshot of all that is that war-now is the US' best bet. At least a 75% chance of getting away with a complete denuclearization and decapitation, that leaves Chinese H&D in tatters, Korea reunified under US-Japan umbrella, and Russia basically keeping fingers from being burnt. I do think Russ...

I don't know about Japan. Except for NBG, missiles are not a grave threat, unless fired in huge numbers.
