Re: Indian Missiles News and Discussions - May 2017

Many years ago, the French gave a course at the EyeEyeTee on mijjile development, including the precursor of the EXOCET, and something called "STATLTEX" which was a high-speed cruise missile. I cannot find any trace of that now, but I found this: Air-Sol Moyenne Portee Avec De Fuel Liquide...

North Korean air force is scoring without even starting their engines. Now at least 3 US planes are down, with a hefty death toll. 2 ships heavily damaged, with hefty death toll. Maybe it is time for ISIS to take over Pakistan. There was a website operating from (where else?) Londonistan back in the 1990s titled
Khilafat For Pakistan

I think that is what morphed into ISIS. They may go back to their original plan.

The most intelligent President of the USA in the history of mankind has no use for LIGO Scientists. NYT In all fairness, did they even devise a new theory? At some point, your standoff distance becomes your capital city. True, we're a long way from there now, but if you spend $6B on a large AC, plus another $B on its retinue and a huge recurring expense every day that the whole armada is on duty, that's so much less that you have to spend on other thin...

The whole idea of aircraft carriers may be outdated inside 5 years, if NoKo/cheen manage to hit the US fleet/ send them back empty-handed. Nothing is permanent. I don't see how to defend a large target like a supercarrier, from hypersonic-cruise missiles.

Now that I got someone to "bite" on my bait re: the Rafale deal, and confirm the credentials of my chaiwalas, here comes the next. The F-16 line offer is based on something else entirely where there is ToT. IOW, there is absolutely no point discussing its merits in isolation.

One point that is missed here is that an India-jeenius fighter does not have to be superior to the best in the world. But you do have to have large numbers, so unit cost must be kept down and domestic production & spare parts are utterly indispensable. A PAF JF-35 or Thundaar SuperWeapon cannot ...
