China's model of growth has nothing to do with their stupid leadership hoarding forex. If they were smart that money would have been with the people of China in the form of land and asset ownership. @ Septimus, think airfield, not airport or airbase. Biiiig difference. 5 Bramhos M is 1 tonne of charge . Its surplus to take out the control tower and destroy the runways. Leave the SAM system alone. With 300km Bramhos range, the MKI's dont need to be anywhere near the airfield to fear their SAM's...

Funding for a production line has already been sanctioned (and is adequate for producing 40 Mk1s). As has funding for the Mk2. That doesn't change the fact that its receiving a raw deal vis a vis the Rafale, despite being far more cost effective. To get the numbers we all think LCA should have we p...

There's a very crucial difference - ballistic missile technology is stagnant by the standards of the aviation industry. The latest generation of ICBMs aren't very different from ones from the '80s. Before this spills out into arguments, let me spell it out my point clearly LCA Mk1 from a product perspective is where Prithvi-1 was in 1988. Re: LCA News and Discussions, 22-Oct-2013
The situation fairly simple. 1. IAF is grapling with shortage of planes and is incredibly top-heavy (by IAF's own admission). 2. LCA Mk1 is not everything that was desired out of the LCA, but is almost there. It beats the Mig-21s, Mirage 2000 and Mig-27s which are really long in the tooth. 3. LCA M...
