In defense of IAF there have been many article in the west who are also skeptical about PAK FA. One can see just by the design its more crude not as smooth compared to other stealth fighters.

However, the defence ministry under Manohar Parrikar is expected to further hammer down the cost by opting out of unnecessary or what are called “over-specified” add-ons in Rafale fighters as per the initial MMRCA contract. This bothers me. The price is so expensive and its still a cut back version.
