When we are gaming the scenarios about SAMs and AAMs shooting down AWACS we must take into consideration that long range average speed of SAM/AAM missiles is Mach 1.5 while AWACS can fly at 0.8 Mach. My guess:-
Indian NGARM will be KH-31 type missile with Range of 250km+
Brahmos A will be configured as ARM missile also and will have range of 1000km+.
AWACS will be able to act as ELINT platform to guide land launched Shaurya missiles with range of 2500km

In a public IAF report it is written that ALL ball bearings used in IAF aircraft are imported because there are no "testing" facilities in India (inspite of civilian capacity to manufacture industrial level ball bearings). Does anybody ever tries to explore PLAN B?
