Re: Indian Military Aviation - 21 Sept 2015
For instance, this was an attempt to catalogue what the MiG-29 is really capable of - looking at IAF and outside both. I looked at various exercises wherein MiG-29s took on various other aircraft and weapons systems. http://bharatrakshak.wikia.com/wiki/MiG-29 Excellent work !!! Appreciate it ... 8)

Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions
With advent of stealth planes the OEMs are already focussing on miniaturising all systems, especially missiles to fit in to weapon bays where the real estate is already at a premium... So Yes, LCA will cary the BhraMos-NG or later versions in future just not now... We need to play the waiting game n...

Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions
^^ I don't know why actuators are so difficult to make, but LCA actuators are indigenised long time ago by ISRO, and are flight tested already. Just google for reference. PS: From 2012 report by Shuklaji: Tejas designers target world class technologies for Mark II fighter http://ajaishukla.blogspot...

Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions
Well, Its OK to make opinions but we should not make matters sound trivial in our jingoism. It applies to me as much as to you or for that matter any other jingo. Fit and finish is not just the issue with Designers' intentions or mindset or priorities. Its the issue related to your manufacturing ca...

Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions
Hey ... No offence Khalsa ... If you read any of my previous post you will see that I am all for Tejas ... Have no doubt that my support is unwavering... I am not critisizing the plane but the aesthetic sense of the designers ... A little more effort there wont hurt, would it? After all jo dikhta ha...

Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions
Why dont you go ahead and add some claws or sawn off shotguns or may be angry tiger eyes to make it menacing ? :?: Hahaha ... were u one of the designing team members ...? :rotfl: @Jayram, Totally agree on the build quality and smooth curves , especially over the wing fuselage ... I guess the compo...

Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions
I think its a very cute plane ... It needs to be made menacing ... Well though we all have a soft corner for it and wish it the BEST, lets be honest here .... It is not one of the best lookers out there ... And its not the plane , its the constant disregard for aesthetics in design all across the In...

Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions
AFAIK, the design phase of AMCA is nearing completion. By the time AMCA prototype is to be developed which will take atleast 5+ years we will need an advanced radar for it and by that time it will have to be a GaN one as the contemporary world by then would have established it as a norm. For India t...

The Mig 29Ks look really amazing especially with the golden-brown coating on the canopy... I thought so .... Do the Ks have a coating of Gold just like the F-16s ? Why is it brown / gold ? Re: LCA Tejas: News and Discussions
I had just flown into Dabolim airport on Friday afternoon and was stuck on the taxiway for 30+ mins as the parking bay was full. Luckily my plane was very close to the INS Hansa parking bay and got to see a few aircrafts and flying ops. :D There were MiG-29Ks, Dornier Do 228s, Kamov Ka-31 AEW Choppe...

I am at Delhi Airport T3 Terminal where I found an IAF lounge next to the ticketing counters. Its for IAF personnel only. It has two large models displayed, one Su-30MKI and one Tejas. Note that its an IAF lounge and not DRDO or HAL or MoD. The noticeable thing about the model is that it depicts th...

Gripen NG looks to be a good fighter ... If the gov allows SAAB to make Gripen in India then it provides good employment and training oppurtunities for our engineers and private companies ... This will definately benefit the private sector and put them on world map as well as provide them with techn...
