I doubt it. pakis will be really squeezed from all sides if that happens. I would like to see how pakis squirm out of this situation. The beggars have been trying to get Putin to visit shit-land for ages. They have been harping on the meeting in shanghai between ganja and Putin. Lets see what happens.

Is there any reason why we cannot use the Garuda or Garuthma from well within our borders to take out these camps in pok? I would not call it an escalation just normal routine exercise. It will exponentially increase the cost of hiding these jihadis for pakistan.

Thanks for the links and info titash and tsarkar. I hope they consider 533 mm tubes instead of the LWT for the ASW corvettes. AK-630 should be cheap and handy air defence component but I see no mention of them. Tsarkar, So I guess the 250-350 tonne WJ-FAC's can all be used for coastal sub hunting. A...

Re: Indian Navy News & Discussion - 15 Dec 2016

Can you post the link where the specs are given? I haven't seen any link that says LWT. At 650-700 tonne there is no point if it doesn't carry 533 mm tubes. The ASW corvette is supposed to operate as far as 200 nm(370 km) and I am pretty sure we have no shore based SAM to cover it at that range and ...

If its an ASW then why LWT? Go with 4X 533 mm tube for Heavy torpedo (like Abhay) and RBU-6000 and 2 AK-630 (Like Tarantuls) . I am not sure IN will accept 30 mm cannon instead of 76 mm gun for a 700 tonne corvette. Maybe they can use the old ones from retiring ships.I am not sure if it is possible ...

Parchim class from east germany. They were basically disposed off when germany reunited. I would hope our junta class ASW would draw from Visby or Kamorta's stealth features and not a 1970-80's ASW corvette. I am yet to see any CAD models of the ASW corvette so I assume they are not finalized yet.

That number is not way off from what IAF+ IN required. IAF needs at least 18 AWACS(Phalcons+ AWACS India) and 18-24 MARS. IN could use 12 (Like E-2's ) or our Desi -AEW if land based .
