Re: Aero India 2017 - Feb 14 - 18
Do the business ticket holders get access to see the static displays up close? Any other extra privileges compared to the general ticket?

Re: Aero India 2017 - Feb 14 - 18
Can anyone who has registered online as a business visitor comment how the registration process was? Does one have to register separately for each day of visit? The payment page did look shady but haven't seen any phising ops on my card,so I'd assume it is kosher. After payment, an SMS confirmation...

Re: Indian Single Engined Multi Role Fighter with Transfer of Manufacturing Technology
Most of the critical parts like engine, radar, nose cone, ejection seat are outsourced. India has a strong composites industry in the private sector. If there is will they can easily ramp up production to 16-24 per year which should deliver 160-240 LCAs from 2020-2030 I suppose the lead time for th...

Re: Indian Single Engined Multi Role Fighter with Transfer of Manufacturing Technology
I see that a lot of questions are being raised in this forum about HAL's ability to scale up even when firm orders for larger number of LCAs eventually materialize. Is that fear rational? Has the HAL never in its past so many years managed to ramp up the production of a particular aircraft to the de...

Re: Indian Single Engined Multi Role Fighter with Transfer of Manufacturing Technology
I still think that if things are desperate we should have 40-50 "Combat Hawks" as a stop gap for CAS and light attack roles in the Western theater to tide us over a decade while LCA numbers are ramped up. If I am not much mistaken, Combat Hawk was an export only proposition. Has the IAF s...

Re: Indian Single Engined Multi Role Fighter with Transfer of Manufacturing Technology
Instead of getting this single engined fighter, we can invest in 1000 Brahmos missiles. We can literally take out/disable the entire airforce of pakistan, key nuclear facilities and key army installations in a matter of minutes. It will be a single knockout blow which they will find it hard to reco...

Re: Indian Single Engined Multi Role Fighter with Transfer of Manufacturing Technology
Not sure if the F 16 CFTs have been discussed at length before or if this particular article has been dissected, I sure did not find it in this thread.

Re: Terror Attack At Army Camp In Jammu And Kashmir's Uri
17 soldiers almost make a platoon. Wars have been fought for the loss of a platoon in the past. Hope the response does not stay limited to effete condemnations and general sophistry.
