CPrakash, I know you said you could not comment on Lt. Kalia, but why not? Why stick only to the case of Sqd. Ldr. Ahuja? Such behaviour is the rule, not the exception, for TSP's jihadi/army hordes. The rotting head story that you mention came into circulation after these incidents. Not before. And ...

Lt. Kalia was tortured & done to death. Sqd. Ldr. Ahuja was apparently shot in point blank range after resisting capture. To remind folks who might not remember : From Rediff : Lt Kalia's brother, Vaibhav, now 25, identified his body when it arrived in a coffin wrapped in the national flag in Pa...

Gen. Liao Xilong

A cursory search on General Liao Xilong seems to indicate that this is a person who might well rise even further. In brief: Has risen through the ranks; native of Guizhou province, born in a poor peasant family. He has been one of Hu Jintao's close supporters in the Central Military Commission. He i...

Satya, Neville Maxwell is not an unbiased source or whose words are considered the gospel truth this side of the Himalayas. Of course, he is
inevitably cited by the Chinese as an impeccable source re. the '62 war.

Philip/Shiv, could you point me to the original news item reporting this Maldivian perfidy? I seem to have missed it completely until now: the silence of the "news" reporting agencies on this horrendous bit of news, if true, is deafening! Originally posted by philip fowler: ...Another rece...

Has anyone here read "Peking versus Delhi" by George Patterson (New York, F.A.Praeger (1964))?
Any comments? Patterson also seems to have written another book called, I think, Requiem for Tibet.

Incidentally, how old are the cave-paintings found several
years ago at Bhim-bhetka (sp?) (i think in Madhya Pradesh)?
Are they of comparable antiquity to these new finds?
