I know that individual units and the cell that uses these for dissection at Mhow later have them.

If they can release some of it, that will be great.

What part of SL ops are you planning on?

Also should try toget Havaldar Gora Singh who is now retired.

The only footage would be with the Army and some with DD.

Shankar - the problem is that you assume that you have a brilliant solution which no one else has thought of. Fortunately for us that is not the case. The IAF has mechanisms to do that. If it is an a\c which has civil flight links then that will get passed on to appropriate people. Details are also ...

The interesting part of all the suggestions to have simulated stormings etc., is the fact that the ARmy used to do this way back in the 70s .

WE used to have itin BRaborne stadium , with Infantry charges , smoke etc. I think they called it Military tattoo or something.

While I appreciate the pictures of equipment , we need more picures of the troopers - thats where a lot of tiny changes have come across. Shivs picture of the paras is nice.
It has also captured a bit of the swagger of the paratroopers
ANy picture of the 6 shot grenade launcher.

I disagree with the idea of busts of individuals - A common memorial is a more laudable aim.

Before anybody goes into raptures about the Ah 64 in the Gulf war, please remeber that it was operatig with virtually no opposition.

Any poor sod who peeped out got plinked.

If we can attain that capability we ca talk about dedicated attack helos.

Nice to see the link. Rakesh the References seem to have gone AWOL. I will resend the reference list later. Problems of trains and transporters also existed for the M1. It was still thought worthwhile to invest in it to get the capabilities that the M1 offered.

Bombay - Pune takes 5 hours - from Dadar to Pune stn. THis on a Saturday morning.
2 hours is pure bunkum.
The expressway reduces the worst case scenarios but leaves the best case scenario more or less the same. ie previous one could reach in 5 - 5 1/2 hours if no delay in ghats. Re: A detailed overview of Indian defence products

the double trigger thingy seems to be an attempt at a 'bullpup' design. It is nothing todo with a grenade launcher. A grenade launcher needs a different type of ammo. It seems the second trigger position will be useful in folded butt mode.

Ok I stand corrected. Not a coin at a km but a human head sized target at a km which is coin sized at that range. This is only under range condition. Nigh impossible in field conditions
Also reconfirmed about LTTTE snipers - few hours maybe a day but never more than that
